Soft Speyside meets Sicilian sweetness – and the result is anything but tame.
Say hello to the Glaschu Tomintoul 7 Year Old Marsala Cask Finish – a small-batch single malt that blends the easygoing charm of Speyside with the rich, golden glow of Marsala wine cask influence. It’s part of the Havelock Series, Glaschu’s line of independent, character-led cask bottlings — and this one doesn’t hold back.
Distilled at Tomintoul Distillery, known as “The Gentle Dram,” this spirit is anything but sleepy. It spent its first years in ex-bourbon casks, soaking up soft vanilla and malty sweetness, before being transferred into a first-fill Marsala wine barrique from Sicily for a vibrant finish that lasted just long enough to dial things up.
Bottled at a robust 50% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration, this is a whisky that delivers creamy fruit, bright spice, and subtle depth — full of charm, but never too sweet.
Nose: Apricot jam, honeycomb, baked pear, and spiced vanilla
Palate: Rich and mouth-coating – toffee apples, citrus peel, nutmeg, and golden syrup over oat biscuits
Finish: Long and warming, with white pepper, soft oak, and lingering orange marmalade
A unique Marsala cask finish brings juicy fruit and dessert-like depth
Bottled at 50% ABV – bold enough to hold its own without overpowering
Unchillfiltered & natural colour – what you see (and taste) is the real deal
A rare 7-year-old Tomintoul – a distillery not often seen finished like this
Part of the Glaschu Havelock Series – small-batch, independently selected, big on flavour
Glaschu Tomintoul 7 Year Old Marsala Cask is for those who love a Speysider with a twist – sweet, spicy, elegant, and just a little unexpected.
A proper sipper. No gimmicks. Just honest cask craft.
On the nose, you'll find zesty orange peel, freshly baked gingerbread, and Madagascar vanilla. On palate, flavours of amaretto, juicy peaches, and honey with a hint of ginger. The finish is light and floral, with notes of stone fruits and honey lingering pleasantly.
