Single Cask | Virgin Oak Series | Cask Strength | Natural Colour | Non-Chill Filtered
The GlenAllachie 2010 Chinquapin Oak Finish Single Cask #4952 is where tradition meets swagger. Part of GlenAllachie’s bold Virgin Oak Series, this rare single cask release takes a classic Speyside foundation and supercharges it with serious wood power.
Distilled in 2010 and bottled at a punchy 61.6% ABV, this isn’t just a whisky—it’s a statement. After initial maturation, it was finished in a virgin Chinquapin oak cask—a lesser-known American oak species (Quercus muehlenbergii, if you want to flex your whisky trivia) that packs the dram with deep spice, toasted sweetness, and a distinctive, nutty character.
Under the watchful eye of whisky legend Billy Walker, this cask was handpicked for its wild depth and balance. The result? A rich, oak-driven single malt bursting with honeyed fruits, warm vanilla, charred wood, and a crackle of spice that lingers long after your last sip.
And while it’s bold, it’s also beautifully layered—think buttery textures, orchard fruit brightness, and a dry, structured finish that makes this one a serious sipper. No chill filtration, no colouring—just GlenAllachie doing what it does best, but with an experimental twist.
With only a limited number of bottles drawn from Cask #4952, this release is one for the collectors, the oak nerds, and anyone who likes their whisky with a bit of bite.
