This isn’t just whisky—it’s a full-bodied sherry-soaked statement. From the mind of Alistair Walker and the ever-adventurous Infrequent Flyers range comes a 16-year-old Dailuaine that’s been through the PX gauntlet and come out dripping in decadence.
Dailuaine is a bit of a cult classic—less flashy than some of its Speyside neighbours, but punchier, meatier, and way more interesting when handled right. And this cask? Oh, it handles it very right. After a long slumber, this single malt was finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask that’s absolutely bursting with dried fruit, dark chocolate, sticky dates, and spice-laced syrup.
It’s intense. It’s indulgent. And at 54.4% ABV, it pulls you in with a velvet glove, then smacks you lovingly with layers of complexity. Think spiced fruitcake soaked in espresso, melted brown sugar, roasted nuts, and a twist of citrus to keep things lively. It’s big. It’s bold. It’s brilliant.
Naturally coloured, non-chill filtered, and cask strength—because this whisky doesn’t need makeup or filters to impress. With just 293 bottles filled from a single cask, this is your one shot to own a piece of dark Speyside magic before it disappears into legend.
Nose: Raisins, prunes, molasses, cinnamon bark, old leather
Palate: PX-soaked dates, nutmeg, espresso, treacle, burnt sugar
Finish: Lingering warmth with sherry-soaked oak and spice
Nose: Straight off, it’s sticky toffee pudding drenched in spiced syrup. Dark raisins, fig jam, and a hit of espresso. Beneath it all, a leathery, earthy depth that speaks to Dailuaine’s signature weight.
Palate: Syrupy and unashamedly rich. Black forest gateau, Medjool dates, cinnamon-dusted prunes and dark chocolate ganache. That PX sweetness clings to every corner of the mouth, while savoury undertones of toasted walnuts and cigar box keep things balanced.
Finish: Long, warming, and utterly luxurious. Molasses, burnt orange peel, and a slow fade of oak and spice. A dram that refuses to be forgotten.
