Athrú Keshcorran 14 Year Old is a whiskey steeped in history, craftsmanship, and rare cask maturation. This third expression in Athrú’s prestigious 14-year-old series is a limited-edition masterpiece, with only 6,600 uniquely numbered bottles crafted under the expert guidance of Billy Walker.
Distilled in Ireland and aged for a decade in American oak ex-bourbon casks, Keshcorran then embarks on a four-year finishing journey in Tokaji sweet wine casks from Hungary. These casks originate from a historic vineyard founded in the 1720s for Catherine the Great, bringing a touch of regal European influence to this exceptional whiskey. The result is a beautifully layered profile, blending classic Irish malt smoothness with the richness of the legendary Hungarian dessert wine.
On the nose, expect fresh green apple and ripe pear, leading into a luscious palate where the Tokaji cask influence shines. Sweet honeyed fruits, delicate spice, and a touch of oak complexity give way to a long, evolving finish of butterscotch and subtle tobacco notes. Each sip offers an elegant balance of orchard fruit freshness and indulgent depth.
Named after the mystical Keshcorran mountain near Sligo—believed to be the birthplace of King Cormac, the first great High King of Ireland—this whiskey carries a sense of legend and legacy in every glass. Whether enjoyed neat or with a drop of water, Athrú Keshcorran is a standout addition to any whiskey collection.
