Lochlea – Smoke Without Fire 

Lochlea’s Smoke Without Fire is a whisky that turns the idea of peat on its head. Instead of brash, overpowering smoke, it offers something subtler,  a soft, refined character where smoke plays a supporting role to fruit and floral sweetness.

Born from the limited Ploughing Edition, Smoke Without Fire joins Lochlea’s core range as a permanent release. Its unique maturation,  in ex-peated refill Bourbon casks and red wine casks, brings complexity and balance. The Bourbon casks lend a touch of vanilla and light smoke, while the wine casks add rich red fruit and structure.

The nose opens with floral notes and fresh berries touched with smoke. The palate builds with juicy red fruits, gentle bonfire smoke, and a sweet, grassy freshness, evolving into a smooth, warming finish where spice, fruit, and peat linger softly.

At 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with natural colour, this whisky is as honest as it gets. Smoke Without Fire showcases Lochlea’s flair for innovation: a whisky where the peat is gentle, the fruit is vibrant, and the balance is spot on.
