Man O' Words - Refill Bourbon 2016
70cl | 60.6% ABV | Single Cask | Cask Strength
A refined and elegant single malt, this exceptional unpeated whisky hails from the historic Annandale Distillery. Originally founded in 1836, Annandale played a key role in Scotland’s whisky heritage before production ceased in the early 1920s. That all changed in 2007, when Professor David Thomson and Teresa Church embarked on a £10.5 million restoration project, bringing the distillery back to life. By 2014, whisky once again flowed from Annandale’s stills, crafted under the expert guidance of Dr. Jim Swan—one of the whisky world’s most influential figures.
The Man O’ Words series is named in honour of Robert Burns, Scotland’s celebrated poet and a former exciseman in Annandale. Representing the unpeated style of the distillery, this expression stands in contrast to its bolder, peated counterpart, Man O’ Sword, which pays homage to King Robert the Bruce.
This single cask, cask-strength whisky has been matured in a refill bourbon cask, allowing the natural distillery character to shine through with delicate vanilla, honeyed malt, and gentle oak influence. Bottled at an impressive 60.6% ABV, this expression is both richly textured and exceptionally smooth.
A beautifully balanced and nuanced Lowland whisky, Man O’ Words Refill Bourbon 2016 is a true connoisseur’s dram—a testament to the craftsmanship of Annandale Distillery and the subtle elegance of unpeated single malt whisky.
